Hi, well just got my OCZ DDR Booster, and found I can't use it in slot3(Yep I know, I should have read the compatibility list a bit closer :o )
Well the thing is if I mod the booster to fit in slot 1, by chopping 5mm off the HS, will there still be issues . I want to run DC. I don't mind looosing the warranty.
To put it simple, is there any other reason that it has to be installed into slot 3, other than that Slot 3 is the only slot it physically fits in, without something/ either RAM or component hindering installation?
Thanks Jeff

If I`m not misstaken, in order to run dual channel the NF7-S needs to have the memory sticks in the two slots farthest apart from each other leaving the center slot open.

Yes slot 1-3 or 2-3 is dual channel, but what I need to know is, will the booster work properly in slot one? Yes it does not physically fit in slot 1 because of obstructions,( the HS on OCZ booster hits some components next to the DImm slot 1, but like I say I can chop 5mm off it so it does fit)

But the question is will the booster work in slot 1? If it does I have my DC, if not it goes on shelf awaiting reason to live again.
