View Full Version : Mozilla Firebird - interesting little nicety

Just today I decided to try Firebird. I noticed that it did not require installation on the Windows session I'm using. So, I'm actually running the app from my Linux file server. Great way to save space and registry settings in Windows. :) Firebird is fairly fast to.

BTW: Yes, I tested to see if I could run from the same location on the file server on two different computers-it works. :cool:

I'm glad you like it. Me too... sort of.. I've been using it since firebird got it's new name but have found that at some point in time some really serious things can happen.

It consumes 80% CPU and kind of degrades your OS to a helpless piece of ....

Maybe it's my lack of updating it with a newer distro but I had the same issues with the phoenix browser. Obviously they didn't get rid of that bug.

Oh... all of this was under XP.
