9800 pro is the card - was working great. I'm pretty sure it still does work great but I'm having a software issue maybe?
While testing stability of my overclock I went into a 3d test - heard a pop - and the system crashed. Blue screen memory error.
I down clocked the memory, rebooted. Same issue - 3d crashes with bluescreen.
I try to reboot into windows and its totally corrupted.
I reformat and install windows. (Using 2000 btw)
Everything works fine. I figure I must have somehow corrupted the registry or something.
Yesterday I'm testing some other memory, EXACT same thing happens. This time I reboot into windows and uninstall the drivers. Reboot - install Catalyst drivers, reboot - Blue screen again.
I reboot - using last known good configuration, uninstall the card/drivers, reboot, reinstall the drivers via Catalyst, and get an error - like the driver didn't install right.
I reboot - no dice. I load safe mode - unistall drivers - reboot. Then I install drivers again. Same error. So I manually install drivers using windows update, computer auto reboots - and here I am. 2d works fine. I'm about to test 3d but I got a strong suspicion its going to blue screen on me.
[EDIT] - Yup - no 3d - blue screen. At least 2d is working... :aboutcry
Anyone got advice besides reformat/reinstalling windows? I think I should just get XP cause 2000 takes forever to update when you reinstall...
