Does anyone have any advice on recordable dvd drives? I've done just enough reading to know that there are competing formats and no standard chosen yet; DVD-R/RW DVD+R/RW
Some drives do one or the other, newer drives do them all. Some say media compatability with standalone dvd players is better with the -R format, and others say it's not a factor. Some say +R disks are more expensive, others say they are about the same. Reason being is I can get the Cendyne 4x2x12x Internal DVD+R/RW Drive for 129$ after rebate. Supposedly a rebadged pioneer drive though I'm not sure about that. At that price, as long as the disks played in MY standalone, wouldn't I be happy enough?
