Nice work PJ! Certainly some food for thought- wouldn't mind seing335HTT stable - at say a X10 multiplier

Bios was of particular interest to me and the tweaks available - makes the bios on an Asus A8V look exactly as klunky as it is.I very nearly went for one of these boards initially - and perhaps now wish I had!

Can't wait to see the review of MSI NF4 diamond :D

BTW -

That was a great review, think that might be the board for me on my 64 build. One quick question will that board support a 3000+ 64 processor.

Yes it will support any 939 processor.

Sorry meant to say PastorJay - hurry up and test that 90nm 3200+ - as I want to get the 90nm 3500+ - very little price difference in the UK, for the benefit of 11X mutiplier

I'm hoping it will O/C well, I've seen some promising results with the 3200+- but I'd like to see some results from someone I can trust!

Just make sure you have the latest bios, and all should be fine. The Beta 1.36 works fine with the 90nm chip as well.

...hurry up and test that 90nm 3200+...

Well I have the 3200+ in right now, and I will say that it runs SLIGHTLY cooler and scores slightyly better in some of my benches. I have to wait for the AS5 to cure before I can finish the heat testing.

I personally would rather have the 3500+ because of the Multi, and I may get one just to try it.

Okay, quick question. I've seen in almost every review of A64s that almost every Clawhammer from 2800+ to 3400+ OCs to 2.5GHz and not an inch more unless using phase change cooling. What's the deal? Makes me wish I saved some money and got a 2800+ instead of a 3200+ if it's the same specs and OCs the same.

Well, it looks like my 3200+ Winchester tops out at 2.5ish as well. There are some that are getting a little better, but not much. I still like the 11 multi on the 3500+, but I may just get me some high speed ram to run with this 3200+ for now. My EB, though good, tops out at about 520ddr stable with the 2.85 that is available to me on this MSI board.

Hey preacher man!
That was a great article!

I need to build a new system, so I've been reading up (built my first one--1GHz Tbird (c) on IWill--in 2000 so I was way behind) on the new technologies. For the last week, I've been prowling the web looking for write-ups on the K8N Neo2 Platinum. I've pretty much decided this board is the one I want to go with my 3500+ I paln to order. But there were some "issues" I wanted to find out more about. One of them was the confusion about the DIMM slots and the color-coding. Of all the sites I hit, this was the only one that explained just what the *&^% was going on with those. KUDOS to you man. I really appreciated the closeups of all the other pieces on the board, too. I feel like I know this board, and I haven't ordered it yet--that's exactly where I want to be (worked for me last time). Also your detailed section on OC was encouraging (I didn't OC my last system) and I just might work up the courage to try to get mine running at 2.5 too. Anyway....great work on the review, just wanted to give you your props.

I have switched over to the dark side! I am going to pair up a 3500+ winchester with this board and I am going to try both OCZ4200el and mushkin lev2 BH5 which would do better??
