a8v 1.02 bios 1005.21 + winchester no boot?

you need to be running BIOS 1007 or later to boot up with a 90nm a64. if you don't have a 130nm chip to flash your bios with, there's a way to do it.

dl and copy bios 1007 or newer to a floppy disk. make sure the bios file you dl'd is named a8v.rom

use only 1 stick of RAM in slot B3 (check your manual but i believe it's 3rd slot away from the cpu and is blue).

insert floppy and startup your machine. right when you POST (which you should be able to do, even with a 90nm chip if you're only using 1 stick of RAM in slot B3) hit ALT+F2 and Asus EZFlash should startup and check your floppy and flash your bios automatically.
