You need a CRT Monitor to get High refresh rates. TFT's are okay in some respects & I know some of the solutions available such as the higher-end Hitachis' have as low as 4m/s refresh times but this still sux big-time if you want the best from your High End Graphics card.

Most TFT's will only do 75Hz at best, some will do as bad as 60Hz at say 1280 x 1024 & 1280 x 1024 with EVERYTHING on to the max, is about right for the Radeon X800XT PE card for most games thesedays. Enable VSync to stop the tearing on most TFT's & ure stuck with 60fps.

Get yoursself a decent CRT Monitor which can manage 100Hz at 1280 x 1024 & the difference you will see is just amazing!

*Note* Be sure to have your Monitor Drivers installed & not Bill Gates drivers setting it as a Plug & Pray Monitor :thumbs:

Dont believe me!?!?!?...go run a game and use a 60Hz screen refresh and try to play the game. Laggy as hell...but set your screen refresh to 100 hz and play it again..........Big difference & you will be hard pushed to see any significant difference above 100hz (100fps) OPenGL shows this up rather more than games using the D3d wrapper. Prolly summat to do with our friend B.G & DirectX but there ya go. It'll all be a pile of cr*p till the next Display device comes along to shaft us. I hear they will be growing our displays in the near future with "Nanotube" technology. Get ure Flymos ready lads!
