dfi lanparty ut 250 + athlon 3100+ 225fsb o\c?

hi my first ever post so i apolagize now,
i cannot get my sys to o\c past 225fsb stable!, i think i ave all the right equipement to make it work , unless my cpu just aint good enough.
is 2.3ghz or more possible on this setup?or am i dreaming.

athlon64 3100+ co steping 1.8ghz 1mb l2 cache (reports 2900+ in bios and win)
dfi 250gb board
2x256 kingston hyperx pc3500 bh5 type
ati 9800se @ 9800pro (softmod)
aquarious 2 watercooling

I will admit that I thought you had made a typo on the processor number, but after some research unknowned to me, athlon 3100+ at stated l2 cache and speed does exist! Specially manufacturer for HP and very suprised to see it still on the market.

Anyhow, first thing first. Showing as a 2900+ normal, AMD has reclassified the PR rating of this processor and is now classified as a 2900 so that's probably why u are seeing that number none issue.

Can u identified what bios version you are running for the mobo. And what is the timing of your memory please.

hi, sorry for not getting back to you . ive blown board inside out, ithink it was cos i hadent put any coolin on the chipset (not sure though). everything else is workin ok in this gigabyte board. ill get back to u after ive rma'd dfi board. thanks though!
