That`s right. I`ve had about every 03 record I can muster out of the ole NF7-S combo in the VapoMAXX (http://www.justwebit.com/sites1/42124/vapomaxx.jpg)....time for some new blood. :)
I`ve been thinking about what dirrection to go, and there`s no way I can compete with the guys at the top of the records with the funds I have and stay there for any more then a day and a half or so, so... I`m moving on to new grounds and ne challanges. I found these (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=6717527751&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT) on e-bay and scored them right up. Then I ordered one of these (http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=13-130-436&depa=0) with a set of these (http://www.monarchcomputer.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=M&Product_Code=140740&Category_Code=REG_OCZ).
I`m thinking LS and XE cooling the CPUs with a PE on the VC should make for one heck of a gamer unit, and one **** -of-a folding machine! :D
Comments? concerns? warnings of impending doom and gloom?? Post them here. :)

Nice indeed :thumb:
Let us know when you get everything and start tweaking. Inquiring minds want to know. :yup: :yup:
Did I hear you say Folding Machine......hehe, you're more then welcome to fold with us. :mischeif: :mischeif:
Sorry, just couldn't help pluging the team. :D

I will let you know when everything comes and when it starts to come together.
..fold for you guys....hehe...a day or two ago I didn`t even know if i was going to have an account here anymore. :bonk:
Good luck with the E-Bay stuff. Like RH said, make it FOLD.

Are the temps different on the LS and the XE, or can you adjust them to be the same?
Just wondering, because it seems you would want the temps on the CPU’s as close as possible.

The LS will remove more heat(240watts vs 180), but I would expect the two of them to be pretty close(-25c to -35c) untill the load limit of the XE is reached at 180 watts.
I`m running the a3500 @ 2.6GHz in a PE right now and it`s folding away 24\7 @ -22.5c.

Small question if I may that has been puzzling me for a while. In a phase changer, why is it not possible to control 2 heads with one compressor?
Is it not possible to have pressure and temp regulator fitted to each seperate feeding line, and with some sort of mechanisim freon/refrigerant flow back and fourth. Or just would be to expansive for a manufacturer to do that ?
Bad example probably but take a frigidaire for example, 1 compressor 2 sets of temp..upper unit freeze..lower unit control temp.

You can control two evaporater heads with one compressor, but it would require a larger compressor and condensor. I do believe there are just way too many combinations of CPUs and GPUs with simply not enough customers ligned up who would be willing to shuck out the increased price to warrant the research and development money it would take to launch it for sale to the public.
There is some control over the temp with the Chill Control software which will try to acheave a set 'hold' temp and maintain it. I aways set it to -50c so it works as hard as it can.

Ok, thank you for clarification, kind of what I thought but was not sure.

If you`ve never run a Vapochill I would highly recommend giving it a try. Once you do, you more then likely will never go back to air. Used stand alone systems can be had for a good price and can be run in series for multipul aplications like a CPU and GPU. IMO they are also quiet compared to a machine with a bunch of case fans running.

I agree, with the Vapochill LS, I'd never go back to air.

Well the though has crossed my mind, nearly won a bid on ebay for a promo a few weeks back. But frankly, I got a problem paying 600.00 + for a processor so for cooling!!!, Down here a promie or LS is way above the thousand dollar...frankly got a problem with that also.
But you never know when new setup get's here I might get the benching bugs and go for it, who knows?
(Will admit that I keep an open eye for a good deal on one however!)

I`ve scored a few used ones at the asetek forums, once and a while you can grab one for just a couple hundred. I just picked up a PE with the new a64 head along with the socket a clamshell as well for $325.00 shipped.
I`d say the biggest advantage beside getting higher clock speeds and more quiet is no hot air from the CPU is blowing into the inside of the case dropping the temp for the rest of the equipment.

Yip some good deals to be had your neck of the woods, sadly up North we got the darn transport and duties to consider if buying from the South ~ and that kind of kills the "good deal". :(
Hence when available locally, u can bet that many try for the deal for they are rare.

MB and memory showed up today, nice cause now I can start to work on getting the a64 Vapochill cooling heads and backing plates MOD`d to fit the board. 1 CPU is realy close to the AGP slot...Might have to do some cutting, shaving and drilling then fabricating of some hold down thingys as non of the original holes line up, but looks like I should be able to make it will work. :)

Fitting the MB to the Vapochill, I have both CPU`s mounted to Vapo`s. But the AGP slot has been moved down on this boad moving the VC closer to the bottom of the case which pushes the edge of the VC into the compressor that`s mounted in the bottom of the case and extreamly bends the hose and pushes it to floor of the case. I tryed the smallest VC I have, a GF3Ti200 and it still doesn`t fit. :(
I`ll have to see if I can move the VC Vapo a bit to make it all fit. :hmm:
