Im torn between these two motherboards at the moment. They both seem to do really well. Whatever I pick it will be put with a P4 2.6C and HyperX 3000 (512x2). OCing is a must, and they both seem to be able to handle it well. The thing is I havnt seen very many posts in regard to the DFI, other than Prometheus' review. So what should I go with?

I have the IC7, great mobo. Go with the IC7, theres more info on this mobo as more people are using it. There will be more help when needed! :)

Im in the same predicament...I just sold my 2.4B and P4G8X and Alpha8942..and Seagate Sata 80gb..so Im deciding what to replace it with.
I decided on the MCX HS, Raptor and probably a 2.6C.
Ive already got (6) 512mb sticks of XMS3500c2 (lots of VMWare work recently).
Imleaning towards the IC7 though..
The reviews here though helped sway me...

The one thing I have against the DFI is the voltage options. Does anyone know if a new BIOS version changes that, or are they still resricted?

DFI has a 875 Pro 2 coming out very shortly with higher dimm voltages.Going by Prometheus post on the 875 Pro.Even though the vdimm can only go to 2.7 the boards was able to push the ram further with the DFI than the IC7 with 2.8 vdimm.

Yeah, those actual Vdimm volts are one thing. On the IC7, at 2.8 is really 2.75. Don't know if the DFI overvolts or is running as stated.
3Gigs for VMWare? My god, how many OS's are you running dbwillis?
The IC7 has a huge problem clocking over 256fsb 1:1.Unless abit sort this i would wait for the DFI rev2.

Does anyone have an idea when the rev.2 of the DFI, or a new BIOS for the DFI, will be coming out?

I read on the Anandtech forums that it would be mid-Sept. for the release of the revision 875Pro II. This was from the DFI Tech support guy.
I think both boards are excellent. I decided on the 875Pro over the IC7 because I really like and use the FrontX a lot, the round IDE connectors are nice (worth about 50 bucks combined), good on-board audio, I did not want a NB fan, and the DFI offers a nice combination of RAID options along with CSA lan. Plus Prom's review was very good too.
I bought mine at Outpost for $189.00 which was quite a bit cheaper than the Asus deluxe "E" Canterwood.
So far I have had no problems at all with the board and have easily OCed to 250 fsb (5:4 @ 3.2GHz) with load temps @ 43C thanks to the Zalman... So the max vdimm of 2.7 has not been an issue for me.

FYI, Here is a newer review of the DFI that came out less than a week ago. Discusses the pro's and con's of the 875Pro and benches it against Asus' Springdale and Abit's IC7.
