SAMSUNG Electronics Introduces 21 inch LCD Monitor with Pivoting Screen

- UXGA (1600X1200 pixels) Native Resolution.
- Thin, 19.5 mm bezel
- Digital Power Management System enables low energy consumption.

Seoul, Korea - July18th, 2003: SAMSUNG Electronics announced a new 21 inch LCD monitor with pivoting screen.

The high, 1600 X 1200 native resolution, combined with screen pivot mechanism, makes the new SyncMaster 213T a great solution for graphics and business users as two A4 (letter)-sized documents can be displayed side-by-side.

Its extra thin bezel and built-in power supply complements the thin (58.8mm) and light (8.5kg) design of the monitor, giving it a trim appearance.

The embedded DPMS (Digital Power Management System) technology reduces energy consumption in stand-by mode to 2W.

The MSRP for the SyncMaster 213T in the Korean market is approximately KRW 2,500,000,

Strange how the press release was yesterday while the monitor's been listed for over a month at Pluscorp.com.au and HT.com.au

I agree. I was almost convinced to replace my CRT with a LCD but I cannot justify the price of a monitor that is two times more expensive than my 24" Sony TV that cannot provide as good of quality as my monitor that I paid only $150 for (it was $150 from selling other hardware).

They do save alot of space. . . . .

Also, I would wait until the low timing ones are realeased. For gaming, we would need lower then 15ms to prevent the ghosting that can be seen on todays LCD's.

True, going to wait for lower response time LCDs before purchase. Maybe this will be nice for a personal home theatre, or people just working with text.

Hey, you all know how the saying goes, the bleeding edge causes bleeding wallets.

So that explains why my wallet is made with Ace bandages. :p

One thing I will buy is the heat argument, by 21" is an oven and I'm the goose...so it's worth it to me to buy an LCD. One thing I won't buy is the space-saving argument....what space do you save? Behind the monitor? What good is that? :p;)

Well, if you have a shallow desk like mine, a 19" or 21" CRT takes up a lot of space. I have my 19" CRT placed as far back as possible and I barely have enough room to rest my hands on the desk when I'm typing.:na:
