I see that Nvidia beat ATi in CS:S, but will it stack up like this in HL2? Im quite shocked by this, ATi is Valves partner and the ATi cards have ALWAYS done better, so what happened? Driver tweaks certainly couldnt have improved the scores this much could they? I dont know about this, I cant wait to see benchmarks with the final product. I'm sure ATi is ****ed off! HL2 was theyre main bragging game, and now it seems Nvidia is whooping ATi in Doom 3 AND HL2! Well, this is what happens when ATi decides to build the X800 on the 9800 core.

Sorry to double post, but after looking at the graphs more, it seems that almost every Nvidia card seems to beat its ATi counter part in alot of the texts. This is very suspicious in my opinion. But hey, the FX5900 series and below can only still run it in Directx 8. I dont know, cant wait to see if anyone that really knows their stuff has to say about this.

I play CSS on my 6800 GT and it's smooth as glass with 4XAA and 16XAF @ 1024x768. Not a single slowdown during gameplay, which is even more than I can say for my old GeForce4 "Ti4600" running the original.

Seen some more results in aa UK magazine that seem to verify the posted results - mind you the differences are so small - you might as well call them the same. Also I thought it was interesting to note that the PCI-e results were on an expensive intel system, to the AGP on a lower priced AMD, with no perceptable advantage going for PCI-e. Perhaps this suggests that PCI-e is next years technology, as Graphics cards will have to get faster you before they can take advantage of PCI-e extra 2 way bandwidth.

You're still gonna be happy whichever system you own :D

EDIT - when I say no discernable differnce, Nvidia winning by 10% up to 1280x1024', and ATI taking over at 1600x1200 is not really a lot of differnce to me.

BTW Original benchmarks I saw were in this months PC Sone - which I had over a week OK - so could have posted sooner!. They also had a review of Half Life 2 and gave it . 97%. They had a lot of screenshots - and they looked awesome. Haven't found a review online yet!

The actual HL2 game is probably more intensive than CS Source so we should wait until they release benchmarks for that. On a funny note, have you guys seen that if you knock down the PC's in the Office map, an ATI card will pop out. Looks like a 9800 Pro.
