When testing these 800 fsb processors, is running one instance of prime95 good enough in torture test mode
or do you need to run two instances...
someone at AT said i should run two instances...
any opinions or observations on this?

You should run 2 instances. Start the 2nd one from the command line like this with the -a2 switch:
"D:\Program Files\Prime95\Prime95.exe" -a2

Oldfart, how do yuou run 2 instances of prime on XP Pro?.Where is the command line, start, all programs, accessories and command prompt on XP?.I know to leave out " " but the -a2 looks like it has a space after exe.I tried both and couldn't get it to work.Right now I am running one instance until i figure this out. Also you show "D" "D:\Program Files\Prime95\Prime95.exe" -a2 Shouldn't that be "C".I do have both a C and D partition.By the way your inbox in full.I couldn't PM you..LOL

Start the 1st one normally. Start the 2nd one from the run......
"D:\Program Files\Prime95\Prime95.exe" -a2
Include the " just like above. Use C: if that is where P95 is installed. This assumes your installation directory is Program Files\Prime95\. You could also browse to the Prime95.exe file and then add the -a2.
Or just create two shortcuts. :)

Yes, you only need one Prime95 folder and app, and create two shortcuts each with its own -a1, -a0 switch in the shortcut properties. This will then create two seperate .ini files for each Prime95 stress tests. At least that is what I have been doing, if someone says this is wrong, let me know. This does stress my cpu with HT enabled to 100%.

The -a1 and -a0 is that only part of prime? or could i use it only other apps?
like run prime and the run Unreal2K3 with -a1?
sorry, I'm new to the HT thing..... :smash:
