1. what bios should i use?
14 or 15?
2. can someone just give me a quick low down on some settings i should use in the bios?
3. the whole game accelerator thing... what is it exactly and is it a hidden bios feature or not? (i know it has to do with mem timings and what not)
....
yeah i think that's it for now

keep the GA in auto until youre done OCing the cpu and ready to tweak the bios / mem.

its faster and more stable. (for me, below 200fsb)
Good Luck! What CPU and ram?

You might have to disable the last option in GA CPC command per clock.A lot of people are having to do that to overclock higher and run more stable so keep that in mind if your having trouble.

i'm using IC7 with 15 bios.. some say 14 is better for oc'ing but 15 still fixes bugs which i rather be bug free

You forgot to download the inf chipset drivers on the cd or intel web site?.nic won't work without it installed and you need the INF chipset drivers. As far as the IAA (Intal Application Accellerator) drivers its a matter of preference.I don't like them as it screwed up my overclocking and I had to reformat to get rid of them, twice this happened to me on different systems so I don't bother with them, others have no problems and like them. but if you use Win. 98 you need them,XP,2000 you don't.

Try the nic in a different pci slot.I have mine in 4 slot and sound card in 5.Before I had my sound card in 3 and nic in 4.Both worked fine for me.

i've tried every slot! :)
it might just be the NIC card...
i don't have an extra laying around so imight just head on by the nearest super walmart tonight and give it a shot...
in the mean time..
i'll let prime95 run and see if
12 x 275 is good to go with the 5:4 divider :)
2.5 - 3 - 3 - 7 will hopefully work...

Your ram is DDR 400 so your running DDR 440 or around there.Raisse the vdimm to 2.8 or set dram ratio to 3:2 (266)

Also don't forget to try disabling CPC.That can help Prime and get you more stable. The only way to know is disable it and try again where you failed from.

thanks i'll try that
280 x 12 right now...
i'll lave it running as i leave! :)

3.36Ghz,I told you it was a good one and your still on default voltage..LOL:D .Remember though this isn't AMD.You will fry your chip running it 1.8V..LOL.I personally wouldn't go over 1.65V.No one really knows yet what these chips can handle for vcore. The 533FSB chips have reported SNDS on 1.7V which was considered safe at one time. The IC7 undervolts .20-.25 which is pretty good.I like a little undervolt rather than overvolt. You will have to change your sig now..LOL

lol yeah i will....
so anyway...
no luck yet... still can't get it to work...
so sad...
but anyway...
i was looking at the device manager and saw that there was a "other devices" showing up
- Universal Serial Bus (USB) Controller(!)
with the question mark and exclamation point....
what am i supposed to install to get this working properly?

Just right click it and go update driver.

Go in device manager and double click it and then go to driver tab and go reinstall driver, this way is better.

Xp did it for me.Read up above what I said in device manager. Also see if USB is enabled in the bios.Windows could update it soon as it loads to windows. There is also anoption in the bios to enable USB 2.0 but I don't bother with it and disable it.I even diable USB since its better for overclocking.
You also have USB 2.0 drivers on the mobo CD.

You can just disable USB 2.0 in the BIOS and it will work as USB 1.1. That will get rid of the yellow !. If you do have USB 2.0 stuff, you need to install USB 2.0 drivers. I run mine in 1.1 mode since I dont have any USB 2.0 devices, but I do have 5 USB 1.1 devices connected.
Do you have the AGP/PCI locked @ 66/33? Some nics dont like to run out of spec.

scanned the ic7 cd....
no drivers were found.. :(
shimmishim
07-18-2003, 11:19 PM
fixed the network problem
all it needed was a reset of the cable modem!!!
now everything is fine... and the o/c-ing can begin!!!
i think this thing can do 3.5 ghz
i've gotten it to 3.4 ghz @ 1.55 volts but this board undervolts? it reads as 1.5....
interesting....

I sould have known about resetting the modem:wack: .My modem doesn't have a reset button. The IC7 undervolts about .20-.25,not really that much.Did you fix the USB driver in device manager?.Just left click once on the one with the ! and then right click it and go update driver.Sounds like you have a nice chip.:)
