Blurry nighttime digicam pics? **HELP**

I have a new digital camera ... its a Kodak LS743. This camera takes great pictures during the day, however, I find that my nighttime shots often turn out really blurry and I am not exactly sure why. I use the nighttime setting on the camera which fires the flash accordingly. I know for sure that I do not have a shaky hand. Any idea why?

Shooting at night requires the shutter to stay open a tad bit longer to let in more light to expose the film, and movement will blur the photo. Have you tried using a tripod at night? Try putting it on a table with a timer just to test it out.
