I know you all have seen Thugsrook's snazzy new posting format, made possible by new VB code tags implemented at his request. They are available for all to use. The new tags are outlined below:

C
The C tag centers things.

RThe R tag aligns things to the right

and then there are highlighting tags of various types:

H
The H tag highlights at 100% width with left aligned text

HC
The HC tag highlights at 100% width with centered text

HR
Can you guess what HR is for?:p

You can also change widths by using these tags with numbers from 20 to 90 in increments of 10:

H20
This is H20

H50
This is H50

Add a C after the number to get centered text:

H30C
This is H20C

H70C
This is H70C

You can also combine tags to achieve different results:

The C tag with the H50C Tag
Cool eh?

Using tags with no text provides us with some nifty line drawing capability:
H(with no text)

H50(with no text)

C with H50(with no text)

That's about the limit of my creativity:D

Thugs has come up with some great variations on all this!

Hopefully these tags will be used to enhance all the great info to be found here at BE, so get Tagging!

Oh, these tags are also NOT case sensitive, so feel free to skip the shift key!

too much trouble :o

na no trouble ~ once you make yourself a standard format you just reuse it over and over and over with only slight changes to the text.

it actually makes things easier for me.

some ppl even print it up to write their test results on! (Mikki!) ;)

thx for the awesome job of making exactly what i asked for sodface :-)

If you Quote sodface's original post, copy, paste then print it in Word it makes a handy cheat sheet. ;)

ill post a few silly examples of just how dynamic these simple tags can be.....
(just quote this post to view the tags in the editor)

Ok, for graphs this could be somwhat limiting since you can only use the lenghts in increments of 10...

But still it's

COOL

I'm a coder now!!! :D:p;)

Chuck,
We originally came up with a tag that you could specify length at any number between 1 and 100, but Thugs discovered that it was causing problems when parsed along with a lot of other tags. He could probably explain it better, but I agree with you that 10 increments are not all the helpful for graphing.

Here is an example of a new tag for our members

Just use the "yglow" tag.

[Type in "yglow" in these brackets, followed by "=" and then a number for the strength of the glow (higher number = bigger)] Put your text in here [ Type in "/yglow" in between these brackets]

Have fun! :thumb:

Here is an example of another new tag for our members

Just use the "pglow" tag.

[Type in "pglow" in these brackets, followed by "=" and then a number for the strength of the glow (higher number = bigger)] Put your text in here [ Type in "/pglow" in between these brackets]

Have fun! :thumb:

Here's another tag for ya!!!

This is a shadow tag. Just use the same as above, with the following changes. In the first set of brackets, type in "shadow=COLOR", where color is whatever color you want. Type your text and then follow that with the second set of brackets with "/shadow" inside them.

Enjoy! :thumb:

Here's the BLUR tag, not sure of it's use but it looks cool

Same as the glow tags, blur=some number, your text, and the /blur end tag....

:D

Mikki
06-10-2004, 08:16 PM
This tag moves your text across the post like a marquee.........

This one is way easy, "move" in the first brackets and "/move" in the second....;)

Mikki
06-10-2004, 08:27 PM
And this one moves vertically....

Same as above except with "movev" instead of "move" :yup:

Mikki
06-10-2004, 08:32 PM
This tag is another glow tag with a color option

This one has a color parameter, but the size is fixed.

Use "glow=COLOR" in the first brackets and "/glow" in the second... :chit:

There is a horizontal line tag available now. It's use is a bit clunky, wherever you want the line put:

f
There should be a line above this text that illustrates the tag.

Hi guys, gals...

I came here a while back looking for new tags to use on the forum that I frequent. There is one in particular that I *thought* I had seen here in this thread, but I can't find it anymore. It was the "spoiler" tag... [ spoil ].... text in quote box... [/ spoil]

It's a quote box with the text inside it 'hidden' and you click on a "Show" button that is directly above the quote box, to view the text inside the quote box. To minimize the quote box again, you click on a "Hide" button.

I was sure that it was in this forum that I saw it.

Is anyone familiar with it? I'd like to know if you can type *some* of the text in the quote box that will be initially visible and make the rest of it hidden... or if it hides ALL of the text.

Anyone?

thanx,

~M

Just using your post to experiment with the spoiler tag... (I'm adding text in it as part of my experimenting... )

Text added by Mariette for experimenting with the spoiler tag.

Nope. It's not working, inside or out. I don't know what I'm doing... maybe it's not here that I saw it and it's not available in your code generator.....

dunno

I appologize if I'm hijacking your thread...
