Hey Guys,

I'm looking at setting so WC for my system and had a couple of questions.

I have attached a picture of how I think the system should be laid out flow wise, but I was wondering if there are any issues with having 3 water blocks off of one supply line.

I was planning on a RBX for the CPU (478), Maze4 (hooked) for NB, and the new 6800 WB that Dangerden has out with the Hydor35 and the double heater core (housed externally).

Is there an issue where you need to restrict the flow to one device so that the others get adequate flow as well? For instance if the GFX block is pretty free flow, the CPU and NB could suffer with little to no flow depending on their own restriction. Obviously the CPU should be the primary device I'd think, with the GFX/NB next at about equal I'd think. Should I use 1/2 to the CPU and run 3/8 to the NB and GFX so that the CPU will always get the best flow?

Thoughts?

Do 1/2" through the whole system, either you let one hose from the cpu go to the nb-block and one hose to the gpu and then use the Y-connection to to the pump. I am not sure about the flow doing like that if it'll be even flow from the cpu to both nb and gpu. Otherwise I would skip the nb-cooler as it has been argued many times if it'll help or not. I doubt it if the chip isn't getting extremly hot. I would do, cpu->nb(as it'll never be as hot as a gpu can become)->gpu->pump->heatercore-cpu... :D

hmm...
So what if I:

'Y' off from the cold side out of the radiator to the CPU/GFX

have 1 cpu return line (the rbx has two) go thru the NB and then 'Y' back with the other CPU return dumping into the reservoir.

Have the GFX return dump into the reservoir.

Then the pump suction side out of the reservoir thru the radiator starting the cycle again?

Drawing shows red as outlet (hot) side with blue as supply (cold) side

This will be much better for you. (see attached pic)
Take the northbridge out of the system. It doesnt help at all. Trust me ,i've got a nice northbridge block sitting here collecting dust.

Ok, no NB block :)

So single line flow rad -> cpu -> gfx -> res -> pump -> rad is the best setup eh.

I would have to agree with Pointhore. :)
I am using a NB cooler and it doesnt increase my OC at all just increases Cpu temp a bit :D
What reservoir are you planning on using??

Okay so I don't have any pic to add but what if you split the line off the rad and run one to the CPU and the other to the GPU then both to the reservior, pump and back to the rad?

it would allow better cooling to the GPU but would there be enough volume of coolant over the CPU in this set-up even if you choose 1/2" lines and a good enough pump?

That would work too, but it will decrease the flow to your CPU by splitting the line.

For Reservoir I was looking at using the 5 1/4 poly one at DangerDen

Ok, all ordered. Now the waiting begins :look: Did I mention I hate waiting? :beat: hehe

DDRBX Lucite - Intel 478
DD6800
1/2 OD ExtremeII Blue
Hydor L35
10 ft CF60
DDBAY HDPE
Stainless Steel (whatever that means, backing plate?)
12 Clamps/Y/T

Only thing I forgot was the relay kit :o so I can power the cpu and have the pump kick on. Any suggestions over what DangerDen offers?

I also want to get quick disconnects for the radiator as I plan on having it external. Are there any nice sets that I can permanantly mount the female side on the case, and the male plug on the radiator side? or am I going to have to just extend the tubing outside the case to mount the quick disco's?

Holy Cow Batman!! :yikes:

And I though the XP-120 was big!!

I just got my NV6800 WC block from DangerDen in and it weights 695g!! One solid piece of copper machined out to only contact the gpu and 6 memory chips with a HUGH lucite top. Picts will be on www.shaydsworld.com/BEImages here in a few minutes.
