Intel P4 3.2Ghz 800FSB Processor

Where would the BleedinEdge be without Bleeding hardware??? Here is some new Bleeding hardware straight from Hawk’s nest.

Introducing the Intel P4 3.2Ghz 800FSB processor. I think we can skip all the nitty gritty on the chip, you guys know all the details.
This is the last chip to be based on the original P4 core. By the end of 2003, there will be the 3.4Ghz based on the Prescott core in a 478 package, then it will evolve into the 775package. . . . . .

Current Setup:ASUS P4C800-E Deluxe BIOS 1009 rev.1.02
Intel P4 3.2C 800FSB CPU
SLK-900 air cooling
2 OCZ 3700 256MB Gold memory chips
Chaintech TI4800

Windows XP SP1
Intel Application Accelerator 3.5
Sandra Max 3 2003.7.9.73

This is the Sandra CPU scores for the CPU. . . . .

Stock 200FSB. . . .

This is FSB 238. . . This was the maximum I could get stable on air. . . .

Cooling used is the SLK-900. . . . . . .

And last but not least, the cooker. . . . . What does this CPU heat up to. What I did was ran SuperPi 32MB at 238FSB and ran ASUS Probe and here is a screenie of the temps. . . .

:eek: :eek: :eek:

Although it is not the highest OC I have done or seen, the CPU throughput is tremendous. Eventhough the raw power seen from this CPU is apparent, I cannot recommend dropping $700 right now on a processor that can only moderatly O/C. As of today, the best bang for your buck is with the 2.4C, 2.6C & 2.8C.

Please note, I can boot with the processor we'll into the 240's but I cannot get it completly stable. :mad:

SLK-900U and what fan?

What do you get in SuperPi at stock speeds?

And 44C under load isn't bad... :p

That is awesome that you got it up to 238 fsb on air:) I would love to see that chip in a prommie.

Chuck232,

The fan I am using is from the Zalman FB123 kit. It's a 92mm fan. That's all I can find on it. . .

Also, SuperPi numbers are on the way. Just finishing the 32M calc. . . . .

SuperPi 1.1 Benchmarks v1.1

Stock Speed

16k = 0s
32K = 0s
64K = 1s
128K = 2s
256K = 7s
512K = 16s
1M = 43s
2M = 1m 30s
4M = 3m 44s
8M = 8m 18s
16M = 18m 38s
32M = 35m 59s

The Vapochill is not compatiable w/ the P4C800-E D w/ the Chill Control 1.0 card. I have a Chill Control 2.0 on the way and expect it any day. It's probably still in customs, but expect a frozen 3.2C very fast once I get the new card. ;)

I'll drop ya a PM when I get it. . . .

Hey Hawk Man! I just got a 3.2Ghz with a P4C800 Deluxe mobo and am trying to get this beast overclocked. So far I could only get to 225 bus and keep stability although I have gotten to 235 or so. I have 1GB of OCZ pc4000 GOLD mem. What are your settings as far as voltage, timings, and such?

When I was using the 3.2C on air, the settings were as follows:

VCore AUTO
Memory (OCZ 3700 Golds's)
2.5-3-3-6-8 at 1:1

or OCZ 4000 Copper
3-4-4-7-8 at 1:1

Both DDR's are set as 2.85V

Also, the AGP/PCI must be locked to 33.33/66.66

If you have made it to 235FSB with the chip. . . :beer: I have not had any 3.2C's that can top 238 as of yet. . .

It'll be interesting to see what your best 2.4C can do on that prommie, Eva.

:yummy: my 2.8C SL6WT will beat my 2.4Cs.. this 2.8C batch can easily do 295fsb in a prommy from what others have posted hehe = 295fsb x 14 = 4130mhz

You can't compare those 2 chips, expecially when you add a prommie. . . .

;)
