Preordered from mittoni.com.au this board weeks ago and finally 2 days ago it arrived :D

System
AMD64 3400+ Newcastle cooled with MCW6002 + MCP650 Pump
DFI Lanparty UT NF3-250Gb s754 revA 14/09/04 bios
64MB Albatron MX480EL testing
1x 256MB KHX3200K2/512 BH-5 testing
120GB WD 1200JB
Yamaha CD-RW Burner
550W Antec TrueControl

Notes

1. Swiftech MCW6002 waterblock's screws aren't the right size - too short with the springs or too long without springs and won't fit the DFI stock retention bracket. I had to place a thin pad of foam under the backplate underside of board to position the backplate flush against the back side of motherboard, then use the DFI stock retention bracket's screws by themselves to securely fasten the MCW6002 waterblock

2. board came with 27/8/04 bios - which reported my AMD64 3400+ Newcastle cpu in bios as CPU Idle = 56-59C! Updated to 14/09/04 bios and bios now reports CPU Idle = 44-46C, while in windows reports 39-42C idle - still 10-13C above my idle temps on my Shuttle AN50R!

3. chipset heatsink is warm even with the fan you see over it on zalman fan bracket even with stock chipset voltage = 1.6v. Using infra-read thermometer under load, chipset heatsink measures 31-36C with 28C room temps at stock 2411mhz on cpu.

4. cpu:ram dividers to the max

stock speed @ 12x200.9mhz = 2411mhz
vcore idle = 1.472v
vcore load (stresscpu) = 1.52-1.536v

CPU idle = 39-42C
CPU load (stresscpu) = 52-56C

i believe cpu temps are at least 10-14C over reported as my same cpu on Shuttle AN50R had cpu idle = 25-30C and cpu load = 40-42C

my 12v rail is rock steady at 12.09v with 550W Antec TrueControl

Update:
multipliers from in bios work fine and stable! This is at 10x 240HTT, 1.5v vcore, 3.0vdimm and vAGP and vChipset = AUTO and mem timings 2-2-2-6 with CPC = AUTO and all other timing settings at AUTO

http://www.fileshosts.com/AMD/DFI/6002_650/3400_2/Kingston/KHX3200K2/1x256/10/LDT_AUTO/10x/240-240-2226-1T-1.5-3-1.5-1.55/cpuz_idle.jpg

http://www.fileshosts.com/AMD/DFI/6002_650/3400_2/Kingston/KHX3200K2/1x256/10/LDT_AUTO/10x/240-240-2226-1T-1.5-3-1.5-1.55/mem-buff.jpg

http://www.fileshosts.com/AMD/DFI/6002_650/3400_2/Kingston/KHX3200K2/1x256/10/LDT_AUTO/10x/240-240-2226-1T-1.5-3-1.5-1.55/mem-unbuff.jpg

I guess unbuffered is low due to the AUTO set values for rest of memory timings are very loose! This is what A64Tweaker reports for those values i set as AUTO in bios - very loose compared to what AN50R board has according to A64Tweaker.

http://www.fileshosts.com/AMD/DFI/6002_650/3400_2/Kingston/KHX3200K2/1x256/10/LDT_AUTO/10x/240-240-2226-1T-1.5-3-1.5-1.55/a64tweaker_AUTO.jpg

AN50R when 2-2-2-6 1T was set, reported in A64Tweaker something like 2-10-12-2-2-6-2-2-3-2-2

Hey Eva Think you could post some PcMark04--02----also 3Dmarkscores--and sandra cpu arithemetic? I know I am asking alot :D but I am very interested in that board and setup. Also how do you think it compares to the rig in my sig in real world performance? Thanks mate :thumb:

P.S. BTW I have never had an AMD system always intel so not sure if I want to make the switch. Well I guess not really a switch. I could keep the one I like the best I guess and give the other to the kids and sell the kids 1.8G P4  LOL The wife will kill me if she hears this.

I am very interested in this board my self. I reall need something better than the GA-K8VNXP, it only allows for 2.7 vdimm :(

Hi, new to DFI and the forums here, could you please tell me where all of these new BIOSs, betas or otherwise are found? Thanks!

I ran 260 FSB 1:1 divider@cas2.5-3-3-7 with OCZ platinum rev2.

here is what I found out,
The ONLY stable VDIMM is 2.9. Don't even try 3 or 3.1. It's not stable, not even if you raise the rails on psu to give it more juice.

I was running 8x260, and 9x260 with stock volt on vcore.
(raising the vcore wouldn't only make the computer boot under load because of lack of cooling on cpu)

the memory on 2.9 volts won't do any more than 230-235. boot yes, but burn in and other benches would reboot it if any over that.

So what do I have? I have chips that are rock stable on 225 and 220 fsb with tight timings. I have a cpu that can do 2.3 ghz and still be stable and cool.

I tried 220x10.5 and 225x10, neither are stable. under load the frickn thing just crashes. I'm running tight timings 2-2-2-11. as 11 is best for gaming and 3dmark.

the FSB doesn't seem to be any problem.
I tried 3.1 vdimm on 220x10.5 no luck.

I swapped the SATA ports and that helped me alot.

do you guys know why I won't get it stable on 220-225x10/10.5.

what is normal temp on a 3400+ Clawhammer btw?

latest beta bios at http://www.dfi-street.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=22 sticky thread at top

teedy07x, what bios and psu you're using ?

fyi, OCZ PC3200 plat rev2 doesnt like high volts, optimal speed of ram will be at 2.8-2.9v and 2x 512MB will lessen max oc than say 2x 256MB or 1x 512MB or 1x 256MB

I had to return my first board for RMA. It is a long story but after many, many, many hours of troubleshooting I was not able to run anything 3D related without freezing, crashing or black screens with my DFI LanpartyUT 250GB. Tried 3 graphics cards (9800 Pro, ti4200 and 6800nu), two power supplies (OCZ Powerstream 520W, Enermax Noisetaker 470W), 4 sets of ram including OCZ PC3500EB, Geil Ultra Platinum PC3500, two CPU's, all new cables, two different hard drives in several configurations including RAID0 and RAID1 and no RAID, a dozen windows installs with every driver known to man, 1000 different bios settings enabling and disabling, 3 different bios's. All components work fine on my other A64 motherboards just fine. Should get my replacement Wednesday and we'll see then.

Just got my new DFI and it works great so far. None of the problems my other one had. Testing with it right now.

New 3700+ 1MB cache cpu plugged into DFI NF3 250Gb. Seems DFI's temp sensor is reporting cooler temps fro 3700+ than my 3400+ Newcastles. New cpu idles at 31C and 47C load.

That's a nice 3700 there. A friend of mine just got a 3700 from Monarch that won't even do 2.7 on a Mach II at any voltage. The cpu's can be very different it seems.
