Well I finally found a space that i can call my own little web-page. Now I have to figure out how to create one  .
Anyone recommend a relative good FTP application that I can use to create a web page and upload it to the server?
I woudl like something that I can use relatively easily at the start but is also advanced somewhat once I become a little more savy in webpage design.
Thanks guys

Snafu,
If you're looking to strictly design a web page then many of the software packages out there for web design have built in FTP components for uploading and downloading files to and form the server. I must now ask what do you intend to use to build the site; will it be mostly HTML; will you use PHP; ASP, JSP; XML. This question (Which Editor should I use) is still a running debate on most Web designer forums. Also what is the server runnning, Windows, Linux, Unix, SQL, MYSQL, FREEBSD, or others?
If you want WYSIWYG then Dreamweaver is probably the best; but it's also very expensive >$350 USD if you're not a student or instructor. WYSIWYG is probaby not the preferred method of choice in building a site as you learn little or nothing form it and have no idea if it generates buggered code or not.
There are many others that range from simple text editors to more full fledged editors with a huge a mount of functions. I know just about everything out there as I try everything knew for a demo to see what it will do.
I really need to know more about what kind of site you want to build and what your requirements will be before I recommend a good package to you.
PM me if you'd like...

Snafu in addition your provider might also request that you set up your files in a specific format or hierarchy to be compatible with whatever OS they are running.
If your asking what program to use to create a webpage that will depend upon your level of expertise in various programming languages. If your looking at using Visual Basic or .Net products as well as HTML I can assist you for coding and setup. I also have some resource disks that have modules to help you learn the basics of coding as well.

Thanks for the news.
I tried uploading with one program and the site did not accept the format. The site simply changed thier system to accomodate me :D: . A bunch of great guys I deal with  . Have always been willing to help me out even when it had nothign to do with the service provider (PS they are across Canada if anyone's interested - just PM me).
I posted without realising the complexities of creating a website. I am looking at creating a basic web site - starting with the usual amateur stuff but want to learn to create a site that's a little more sofisticated as I go along. So its hard to say what program I need at the moment. I am reading through some sites on coding to bring myself up to speed with creating webpages.
