I Want overclock my 6800 card more need HELP!!!

Hi to all at this site this is my first post and thread.

Wicked forums man. :D

I have a galaxy 6800 128mb ive pushed it with the standard nvidia overclocker to 405mhz core and 806mhz ram but over guys have matched the core but got 875mhz from there memory with the same make of card, is there another program where i can oc without using nvidia coolbits oc, cuz the temp no matter what stays below 49C. heres my computer spec if any 1 can help me push it more.

DFI lanparty VersionB MB
512mb 333mhz **** ram
Audigy SC
2 X litoen 8x - + writer
6800 128 Galaxy (3Dmark03 Score 9553 unclocked 2x4 AA) :fire:
want to oc as high as i can and see the score then

Also of interest its connected to my power supply with the first connecter but the 2nd and 3rd are connected to my DVD writers could this be drawing juice away from my card?

**** forgot to mentioni have a thermaltake Aluminium case with 4 fans with a fan controller, also CPU cooler is a coolmaster aero 7+.

And the power supply is a Thermaltake butterfly 420watt wuth 7 flashing LEDS lol.

With 2 blue neons in case.

manhota , welcome to the BE. :welcome: Probably the easiest way to overclock your card is with Coolbits.

At one time 470w psu was necessary for 6800 but I have heard that this requirement is dropped to 420w psu with the latest bios for the card. This might not be it at all cause your second posts says 420w but your sig says 480w :scratch:

Could always try moving your optical drives to another 12v line and try oc'ing with the card on its own 12v line.

Snafu its a 480watt sorry mate. i will do what u siad and move all the optical drives to another 12v dongle.

jim mate i already have coolbits but ur version had some extra menus i havent seen before like that agp menu. it gave the same results as before. but thanx anyway for the coolbits links, it still gave the same results of 405 x 806 ish.

what about changing the bios of the gfx to another like a gt model or should i not risk it as my card has 12 piplines and a gt model has 16?

manhota , there is a very interesting thread here (http://www.guru3d.com/rivatuner/) on softmodding the 6800 and possibly activating 16 pipes on the 6800. I haven't had time to explore this newest version of RivaTuner but the possibilities look quite intriguing. ;)

thax for the link im gona try it out man let ya know what happens, i see u own a 6800 tell me if u have any luck soft modding, 1 problem a gt model has 2 12volt conection and my 12 pipline has 1 12volt powerconnecter.

quick question about nvidia drivers.

what is write combining if enabled will it increase performance or decrease it?
