After searching for a new power supply for two nights straight now I have managed to find two power supplies. The Antec NeoPower 480W (http://www.antec.com/us/productDetails.php?ProdID=24480#) and the Ultra X-Connect 500W (http://www.ultraproducts.com/item.php?sku=U10-9510%20W). In my honest openion, everything seems to weigh out in the end...

For example, the NeoPower has APFC while the X-Connect does not. Another is how the X-Connect has the connection wires already sleeved (http://images.tigerdirect.com/itemdetails/ultra-x-connect/cables.jpg) up very professional like and Antec's is still fugly (http://www.silentpcreview.com/files/images/antecneo/cables.jpg).

Then there is the fact that Antec is a big name and well trusted in the community while Ultra is small and somewhat "shady."

Anyways, I was hoping to hear some people's openions about each of the power supplies. I am aiming this at the folks who currently own one of these power supplies, rather than someone guessing on what they think.

I can't offer any advice here, but did you notice in the link you posted to the Ultra-X Connect 500W, that at the bottom of the page where they show the arm putting the power supply into the case, that the case looks just a little like an Antec case? Maybe that's a little poke at Antec :p kinda funny too they have a microATX board in that big a$$ case (not to mention there's no cpu or anything installed)

Very nice looking power supply though, if looks mean anything it should be a quality bit of kit.

EDIT// Looks exactly like this Antec Case Linky (http://images10.newegg.com/productimage/11-129-115-04.JPG)

Also, have you considered OCZ's PSU discussed here:

Dude, if Pimprig says its a good PSU it is. And plus, it just so happens that I'm buying the exact same PSU in a month or so. So I'd say go with the Ultra. The company isn't as well known as Antec but they are in no way "shady". TigerDirect sells Ultra PSU's and memory and its nice stuff. So I'd go with the Ultra for sure. Hope this helps!

I hear both the OCZ and Ultra PSU's are made by Tagan ;)

Hey Akuira, I own an Ultra X-connect 500w and have owned Antec power supplies ( Not the NEO though) and I am really satified with the quality of the X-connect. I don't have any power gizmo testers but I can say that it runs my ahtlon64 3200+, fx5900, 1gb of pc3200, and 2x sata150 seagate 7200.7 8mb 80gb hds in a raid 0 from a Lsi Megaraid s150-4 hardware raid controller. I just upgraded from the 350w trueblue that came with my Antec LANBOY chassis. It looks very clean inside the case, it's quiet and I would recommend it to everyone! I'm happy! I hope this helps.. if you want to know anything else about my experiance just ask..
