We created this forum for those of you that might not always use the front page as an index of "latest and greatest" here at the BleedinEdge...This forum will contain all recent Reviews, Guides, and Articles; and will be used for any discussion you feel is appropriate

I lurk on the home page and wondered why I did not see any posts about the great articles at BE. It would be nice to have posts related to the articles appear on the home page. Then again maybe folks won't visit the article links. Tough call.
Cheers

How about this Snafu, we could have a link to the article and to the forum to discuss the article on the front page, do you think that would enhance the discussion anymore?

I'm open to anything. I think you will get more with this approach. But I think you will get better read-age if posts on the thread discussing the article appeared on teh home page under "Latest Forum Topics". I mostly keep my eye open on the home page to see new posts and refresh to track what is posted.
I do scan the articles for news but I mainly scan the active posts on the home page. I think others do the same (they are probably watching multi-sites :hide: and this is the easiest way to keep track of anything new that's posted. Because this thread and new posts to it appear on the home page I easily know when something new is posted and read through it (btw thanks for having new posts to this article added to the home page listing of new posts :thumb: ).
With this approach I think you will get more folks reading the threads on the article. If there is a link within the thread back to the article then I think you will get more traffic on the article (anyway to easily check traffic on each page to run a comparison?). Just a thought that might help as long as it is easily implemented.
One thing you might need to consider is needing to list more active threads (maybe a 24-hour limit?). Only because ther may be more new posts appearing on the home page and kicking off other posts resulting in mor ebumping. Not sure if this is easily possible but just some thoughts.
Maybe it is worth a poll to see how members monitor the site for info? Do they only watch the active threads/new posts, read through the entire page, or something else?
