what is the max temp that would be reasonable for the 6800GT? i am planning on turning off throttling, but don't want to fry my card afterwards.

and is there a way to easily monitor the temps? i want to add an external sensor, but i don't see anywhere to put it.

Don't know what 6800Gt you have , but found this about the eVGA e-GeForce 6800GT

ok, so it looks like 90C is the max where bad stuff starts to happen.

how do i monitor that?

Rivatuner should be able to tell you the core temperatures.
