I use Nero 6 for cd's and DVD Shrink and decrypter to write dvd's.

for cd burning i use Nero 5.5 (updated to latest version 5.5.10.56 - haven't gone to 6 yet myself...) works great for me. i like that you can burn to/from HD image, or you can burn drive to drive directly. also you can rip with it to MP3 using the "save" function - that's what i use to rip all my stuff for use in winamp (after 30 free rips you have to buy a plug-in for $20/download)...

for dvd's i also use Nero 5.5, or i use the free version of Sonic DVDit! that came with Adobe Premiere 6.5 - it's okay, but that's about all. maybe the full retail version is better than the freebie that Adobe bundles...

For straight burning of images, Nero of course.

I gottta say I REALLY like that new Roxio Easy Nedia Creator 7 package for mastering video DVD.

I must be the only one that just can't stand Nero. I know it's a powerful program and I use it when I have to, but I just don't like the interface. I was always partial to Prassi's stuff but they've been rebadged I think due to lawsuits with Adaptec - they're marketed now under Stomp RecordNow and I think Sonic MyDVD uses the same burning engine with a different gui...

nero 6 ultimate (if the ultimate badge really makes a difference)
