I know the speed of the CPU fan can be changed (using Q-Fan & presumably other apps), but can the speed of the fans plugged into the chassis & PSU headers be changed?

Has anyone tried using a program like speedfan witht he Asus P4C800/E to control the speed of all the fans?

just use a rheobus and 4pin to 3pin splitter connectors for rpm monitoring and wire for power

I'd perfer the fans to be controlled by software thus enabling the fans to be automatically controlled according to the various temperatures of CPU, Northbridge, HDD, etc.

If you've got an Antec TruePower PSU, you can plug the case fans into the fan only headers. They do a very good job quietening down the fans. I got 2 80mm case fans attached to them and 1 not and the one that's not is definitely a lot louder. You can really hear the difference.

So an I correct in thinking that only the CPU fan connector on this board supports variable fan speed control?

Can anyone give a definative answer?
