Today I witnessed something rather unusual....I went to a local shop to see whats what and I come across an ASUS V9999GT....
Whats very peculiar about this card is that on the box it says specifically that the card is a NVIDIA 6800GT....ok no problems here as the web site confirms that the V9999 series are based on 6800 GPU's...
The catch is that the card only has 128MB DDR3 RAM...
As well as a price tage $50 more than the V9999GE sitting next to it on the shelf that has 256MB DDR3 RAM
At this time, NONE of the ASUS web sites list this card(V9999GT) anywhere
Hmmmm....So I ask the one of the workers how and why is this card for sale at that price with only 128MB RAM....He replies its a 6800GT and that it will still perform better than the 6800 with 256MB RAM.....
Now I would love to prove him wrong(DOOM 3) but really I'm not going to waste my hard earned clams on that card.... :bonk:
