I was wondering what the maximum safe operating temp. is for a p4 2.4C. Ive read some confilcting things and want to stay safe. Mine runs around 33c clocked at 3.0 sitting idle and gets up to the mid/upper 40's under intense gaming conditions.

i believe it is 72*C, some are rated even higher.
example (http://processorfinder.intel.com/scripts/details.asp?sSpec=SL6WZ&ProcFam=483&PkgType=ALL&SysBusSpd=ALL&CorSpd=ALL) 100*C for a SL6WZ 2.6C
example 2 (http://processorfinder.intel.com/scripts/details.asp?sSpec=SL6S2&ProcFam=483&PkgType=ALL&SysBusSpd=ALL&CorSpd=ALL) 72*C for a SL6S2 2.53b
