seems 2.5-4-4-8 was faster in most benchies than 2.5-4-4-7

Yeah I see you got an extra ~100MB/s in your SiSoft memory scores at least... That's quite a big difference.

When are you gonna crank up the FSB speed on that 2.4 and get some speed out of it? 255 FSB is kind of low for a 2.4 isn't it? Also, do you have to run timings that slow (2.5-4-4-8)?

timings need to be that slow since i only can feed memory @255mhz 2.77v vdimm

i got the 2.4C to 280-285FSB 3:2 but haven't figured out stable memory timings for 3:2 yet

Do you have to drop to 3:2? 5:4 should be easy with that ram.

3:2 ratio
- with FSB = 265mhz in bios, IC7 is setting my FSB at 266mhz and my memory at 177mhz instead of 176mhz

With 265(6)/176(7) i had timings for OCZ PC3700 Gold dual channel at 2-3-3-7 and memtest86 errored in very first pass of test #3 (which i've experienced to mean cpu speed or vcore issue), but if i set memory timing to 2.5-3-3-7 there are no errors in test #3 on first pass and so far looping test #3 has been error free for 40+ passes

This is with memory running at 177mhz that can do on IC7

The OCZ PC3700 Gold is well known not to like to run @ a mem ratio and does not run @ tight timings either. Its not a good choice when running 5:4 or 3:2.

MEM 181 2-3-3-7 at 2.85v

On my IC7 my 3DMark1 score is 18999. My 2.6c is oc to 274fsb, @ 3567mhz. 800 strap @ 5:4, memory Mushkin & Corsair DDR400, timings 2.5,3,2,5, GA all auto. 9700 pro oc'ed engine 371, memory 351. Sandra score 2854/2919.
