I did run windows XP Pro 64bit for a month or so. There was a significant boost in perormance in use of windowsXP. Allthough programs themselves sometimes ran slower.

I'll Install my Windows XP Pro 64 again later this week, and I'll post you some screens and OC screenshots.

Check this thread in 2 days.

Win XP64 is like running in MUDD.
I didn`t find a single thing that ran faster then the reg XP pro.

Well anyway I think there are thing like loading screens that go faster.
I ran some tests... but the only test I found that supports AMD64 instuctionset was sisoft sandra SP2.

I'll post the WIN XP 32 bit benches first:

As you can see there is a slight advantage towards the 64bit edition.
I'll see if I can find some more benchmarking programs around for 64 and 32 bit.

Benchmark programs in 32 bit deliver the same results when run under 64bit XP, except 1 program BenchoneIII.
BenchOneIII in 32Bit windows Delivers 19391 bobs (nearly a worldrecord :beat: according to the program: WR=19435bobs)
BenchOneIII under 64Bit Mode 19439 bobs :fire: . And this clearly setting a new worldrecord. :na:
Although I'm not convinced I have the fastest system on this planet :hide:

I hope I provided some usefull info regarding win 64bit.

I'll try to run some games later this week on win XP Pro 64bit edition and 32 bit edition. :coocoo:

I am unable to run XP64 full bore due to lack of video support for my X800 PE XT. Same issues I encountered with win2k, winxp. Hardware vendors won't commit to drivers before OS is released.

The ATI 64 bit beta does not support x800 models.

I ran 64 for a couple of weeks, and it seem rock solid stable, and somehow had extra zip to it - maybe because I had less installed. The only bench that I did at the time was 3Dmark03 where it was about 5% lower. I've just tried to boot into 64XP to do some more benchies, and the install has become corrupted (I haven't used it for a couple of weeks). When I have time I'll reinstal and refresh my memory.
