Hey gang,
I'm just wondering what the fastest RAM anyone has successfully used in their motherboard. I have the mobo but am still looking for the RAM for it. I was looking at the OCZ DDR500 PC4000 Performance series 2x512MB right now, any difference between that and the gold? The OCZ website doesn't recommend either chip but it doesn't have that board on it yet.
Thanks in advance!

What ever you do make sure you get something that likes to run 1t over 250. I have 2x512 of Corsair TwinX XMS3200XL that is extremely fast but with both installed they top out at 232 with 1t enabled, each stick maxes out at 248 1t. No extra voltage seems to help.
Looking for something myself that allows me to run 1t up to 260 would be most excellent.

Is anyone getting over 250 with 2x512? After all, the 754 is a single-channel system.
Doesn't matter if HTT can reach 300 (I've even gotten 330) if there isn't sufficient drive strength from the on-chip memory controller. My 3500EB can't quite reach DDR500 at 2.85V (2x512), though it maintains 1T ok.
Presumably, 1x512 could do a lot better, if you're willing to make that sacrifice...

its worth remembering if you are unfortunate enough to have a 'CO' steeping clawhammer you wont be able to reach as high HTTs as you can with a 'CG', not even close due to the poor early revision onboard memory controller.
ive now got the Neo 2(S939( and I can get 255 with OCZ4000 Gold and ive heard with the latest beta BIOS for the S754 Neo (1.52 beta) the OCZ4000 GOLD and OCZ EB will do 250. ;)
