nice stuff there Hawk!
got my Asus 6800Ultra coming this week :D
Great review, Hawk. Looks like that card really packs a punch. I just might switch to nVIDIA when I upgrade my system.
Thanks guys. . .
Let me know if there is anything specific you'd like to see. I was hoping Shadermark 2.1 would have been released, but no! ! !

lo hawk nice review :thumb:
but.... i just bought one of those badboys (XFX6800ultraextreme oc) and while it plays doom3 very nicely indeed i cannot get it to perform with farcry.
i have all the latest drivers and patches needed but the graphics are messed up :help: the intros and game menus look fine but when the game starts its as if there is no graphic card present ..and the auto detect puts all the settings to low :?: any help would be great!!!
amd 3200 64bit 1gig pny ram all the good stuff my old card was a xfx 5950 ultra, no probs with that
Hello, Kello. . . :welcome: to the BE. What NVidia drivers are you using?
I'm playing with the 66.00 right now and they work with FarCry without any issues.

As soon as I plugged my new BFG 6800 Ultra OC into my system and ran anything 3D the artifacting began. This is such a nightmare because I read such great reviews of this card. I even sent the card back to BFG and they "supposedly" sent me another card. This one artifacts worse than the first one and even does it on the WinXP desktop. I previously had a 5900 Ultra and o/c'ed it as well as my system without any artifacting whatsoever. I've tried running my system without any o/c'ing at all and it's the same result. I have very common hardware as well from what I've been reading. Here's a list of what I have:
ASUS P4C800-E Deluxe, BIOS Rev. 1016
P4(C) 2.8Ghz
OCZ PC3700 Gold Rev. 3
PowerMax PSU 500watts
Tried Nvidia 61.77 & 66.81 drivers
I'm going to try plugging the 6800 Ultra OC into my friends computer tonight to see if it acts any differently. I just can't think of what would be causing it to do this :( Maybe I just have really bad luck and have gotten 2 bad cards? :beat:

Can you get a screenshot of what you are seeing? If you were lucky enough to get 2 bad cards, can you send me a lotto ticket. :coocoo:

gitdat,
You have asked the same question in the graphihc section which is/was the appropriate place to post. Posting in 2 places the same thing, will only make it difficult to help you.
Further more this place here is more a reviews section then a help forum for such problems.
Look at your original post in the other section, I have already provided some arenas you might want to explore.
