Anyone use Ghost 2002 with an IC7 and using the Intel and Silicon SATA controllers? I get a message from Ghost telling me that there is only one local disk...
I also do not get a bios for the Silicon at bootup, so I cannot set it up, which may also be why I cannot set up the Ghost image.
I am able to access the drive and copy and delete files when in windows...
Any help?

No-one states the format of thier HDDs...
The thing I found, is that Ghost will not find a second partition of NTFS. I had to convert the second partition to FAT32 to get Ghost to find it. Then I could back up the C: (NTFS) partition to the D: (FAT32) partition.
Hope this helps....

I think Ghost 2003 finally fixes that entirely stupid feature of Ghost 2002 and lower. That was one of the main reasons for me to use DriveImage because I at least could store my images to a NTFS partition.

Well, I have not had any problem using Ghost 2002 with the SATA drives until now. I just can't get the secondary controller to be recognized after boot. I guess I will just have to hook her up to the IDE port and do my work there. I was just hoping to get it to work. I may have to get me a copy of one of the other programs... Anyone have a favorite they are using now other than Ghost? Anything windows based?

Blah!!!
Downloaded the PowerQuest software (trial version). It is nice that you can use it in windows, but I have not been able to create an image yet!!! At first, it just froze right up, then I thought, "well, I am overclocked, let's do it at stock." Rebooted and set to default settings, and then tried to make an image again, it looked like it was working and then BOOM! It just stopped at 60%....
AHHHHHHHH!

Sounds like it's probably going to be at least another month until TrueImage will provide a fix for the ICH5R controller. This is one of the other options for imaging software-http://www.acronis.com/products/trueimage/
However, it is already known that it will not work with the ICH5R at all for now. DI2002 and DI7 I have had no problem getting to work on my ICH5R controller however I'm only using one drive.

Well, a month is not that long, and maybe I can make an image on CD... I have not tried that yet. It was just wierd to me that I got up to 60% and then it stopped. I do have a "trial" version of Ghost 2003 that I will be trying out.

I've successfully used DI 5.0, 2002 and 7.0 with (non-raid) SATA drives on my Intel 875PBZ. It sees all SATA and IDE drives and writes images to any NTFS drive (other than the partition you're imaging, of course :)) DI 5.0 works fine, either from the Windows interface or the bootable floppies.
DI 5.0 is still my imaging app of choice. DI2002 and 7.0 are the classic definition of Bloatware.

Sorry but I disagree about DI2002 being bloatware. Reason: I like the ease of doing network backups from a floppy. DI5 did not support that.
