I had to create a floppy disk from the CD disk that came with the board. During XP install it asks you to hit crtl-m (cannot recall if this is the right keystrokes) to set-up raid and insert the floppy. I have not done it in a whiles but I think you can use these keystrokes during boot-up to set up a new raid.

If you do have a raid set-up be careful. Messing with it after it is set-up can mess it up and you will loose everything on the raid unless you can restore a back-up (ex. using Acronis True Image and another non-raid hard drive).

How do you tell if you are running a raid? Simplest is to see if you can only see one drive and it is double the size of each drive (i.e., if you have 2-36BG drives then teh raid drive should be seen as 72GB).

Sounds like it. You can baseline it before trying the accel utility by running ATTO. Pointreyes pointed me to the following thread at ABX

This link gives you a link where it can be downloaded and which one to download

The following BE thread about my raid:

I am not sure if Installing the utility will require that you back-up the raid first so you can restore after the utility is installed. Where did you find the utility? I'm always nervous playing with the raid until you can restore it in case it goes snafu.

P.S> according to Sandra my raid benches at 66MB/s (Atto shows different depending on transfer size - peaked at a write of 104MB/s and 87MB/s to read - it's on the promise controller)
