Hello BE folks!
I have been working on a personal project that I would like to share with you and if you could (or would) give me some feedback on. I have setup a SHOUTcast server (http://www.shoutcast.com/) on one of my servers for the people I play an online game with www.Eve-Online.com
The link to my SHOUTcast server is http://www.eve-nec.org:8000 and you can use a program like VLC or Winamp to listen to the streaming music. There will be 3 of us testing the server (taking turns being DJ's) and we are testing how the load would and will be under various conditions. We have set it up for 32 people at a time with 128k stereo music coming from it. It is setup as a private server and is not open to the public. So please, this is really only for BE members to help me test it out.
For those that have never done anything like this before, it was actually not very hard at all to setup. There are some great youtube videos (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c1leou1vqE4) along with great help on the SHOUTcast website to get it going. All it takes is just some time and a reason to learn to do it and then do it :)
Anyways, thought I would share that with you, and I look forward to hearing your feedback. Just alike every other project that I have seen done here on BE you guys always give honest answers with great help on getting things done right the first time.
