Hello Everyone,
My name is Paul & I live on the South Coast of the UK.
I have been very interested in technology & computers ever since I was a young kid. I think watching Star Wars impacted on me allot. I got a hand held space invaders game when I was around 9, which was great, from 10 I played around a bit with a ZX-81 & after that a ZX Spectrum; we are talking cutting edge technology here ;)
A friend of mine at school got a BBC Micro, which I was quite jealous of.
I bought a Vectrex system with my Bro off a school friend, for around £30, with around 10 games. What a great & fun game system, I wish I had kept it. Here is a photo;

I spent allot of money, for me at the time, in arcades on games as I grew older. I got a MK1 Play station when they came out, & played on Nintendo 64's, I also bought a Dreamcast when they appeared, although they flopped; I enjoyed the games.
Around 10 years ago I did a years course in computer graphics, using mainly Photoshop & Freehand - which got me into PC's - I bought a PIII based system some time after in around 99. A couple of years later I was recommended through a friend to a guy who apparently knew about PC's & could upgrade it for me, he royally messed up the PC :smash: & after allot of problems & encouragement from another friend I stripped it down & rebuilt it. Since then I've got allot more confident with tinkering & putting them together. I have built 4 more since then & stripped down & upgraded quite a few more as well. I enjoy this practical side to them. I did another year course in computers - CISCO IT essentials - a couple of years ago. At the moment I am doing a Web Design course. I am seriously considering doing a Part time degree in psychology & computing; which would be very interesting.
I am very interested in seeing where computers & computer technology takes us. We have I think a great potential to use this technology for the betterment of our species. :beer:
