I am looking for a 10/100/1000 Switch with 8 or 12 ports, which has Port Security built in.

With the Port Security feature the switch permanently puts in it's memory for each port the MAC Address used by the client (instead of or in addition to the IP Address?).

This of course would require the Administrator to be able to access the Switch when a client is not connected anymore to that specific port to delete the MAC Address so it can be put on "learning" mode for that port again. So a software app or web access will be required to configure the switch.

Anyone who can advise me?

May I ask a Mod to change the word Router into Switch in the Title of the thread?
Thanks!

I think what you are looking for is called a managed switch. I'm not sure what would work for you though. But that might help you out on your quest through searches though.

My Dell unmanaged switch is great, you might want to check out their managed switches. What is nice with going Dell on this is that you can purchase that 3 year warranty and considering the cost of a managed switch the warranty through Dell might very well be worth it.

You didn't fix the Title on the initial post though. :)
