how do you guys set your gamma and black level? is there a program out there besides the adobe gamma tool that will help me better adjust my moniter? i have a 19inch CRTviewsonic E90fb. i know it's not a great moniter but it has to be better than the picture quality than i am getting! any help would be greatly appreciated....thanx :thumb:

Flexkill, I have a ViewSonic PF790, it came with a disk that had some color correction software on it. It also had this plastic card that you stick on the monitor while running the software.

I just ran the software, adjusted the monitor as required and it’s been running that way for the last year and a half, haven’t touched it since.

I'd give it a try if that stuff came with your monitor.

hmmm i didn't get that :scratch: . anyway i found powerstrip works great duz all the work for ya. i never new my moniter could look so good. i have been going through all my games and WOW!!! the correct gamma is very important. i am using the mac setting of 1.8gamma as i found the windows standard of 2.2 is to dark. :wpleased: :thumb:

RH's advice is easier and cheaper than my suggestion. I just read about the Pantone Color Plus. You just stick to the screen run the program and make adjustments. Now as long as your printer is calibrated properly you're set.
