Anyone know this product? It is a Software Firewall and Intrusion Detection app. I have it seen working it for about a minute and I was impressed about it. However I didn't have the opportuntiy to look at it a more thoroughly (just did not want to give my client the impression I didn't know about the existance of the product).

Anyone else here who has some experience with it? How does it compare to ZoneAlarm?

I am consdering buying it (almost USD 40), but before doing so, I want to have some input from you guys.

Black Ice in the past has not offered near the protection that a product such as Zone Alarm exhibits...Zone Alarm and Sygate are generally rated as the two best software firewalls.

I agree with Paragon. You can get Zone Alarm for about the same price and have much better protection.

I recently had a problem with ZA locking up a client's computer. :( Fortunately Sygate worked just fine for their system. ZA and Sygate are definitely the two better ones to try.

I really don't know alot about firewalls to say what is better or not, but for my company (a big Fortune 100 company), BlackIce is the firewall we as employees are required to run in order to VPN to the network from home. And we work, often, with sensitive military stuff....so I would think they'd be pretty fussy about firewall protection.
