PAT
PAT is disabled on the Ai7 when using the following bios combinations: (bios v17)
* NBs800 1:1 GAT=Auto
* NBs800 5:4
To get PAT in NBs800 1:1 mode you need to enable a GAT setting.
You cannot enable PAT in NBs800 5:4 mode even with a GAT setting enabled.
PAT works in all NBs667 modes and ratios.
(so far ive got upto 3640mhz 260fsb nbs667 5:4 416ddr c2822 GAT=turbo working just fine)

i was surprised of that too.
the Ai7 is able to do quite a few things that the Ic7 cant. nbs667 1:1 with GAT and 5:4 with GAT just to name 2.
now if the Ic7 could do that....... ;)

just remember when you start tweaking it ~ stay away from nbs800 1:1 GAT Auto. either enable a GAT setting or drop to nbs667 so it will enable PAT.

Yep I will keep that in mind!!! My old P4 2.4A 400MHZ FSB(which BTW is suppossedly not supported with AI7) I couldn't turn off PAT no matter how hard I tried. I thinnk I used nsb533 with that chip since I wante 4:5 ratio with PC2100 value RAM @3-2-3-6 :rolleyes: lol I actually got it up to 3.1G OC'ed with that junk LOL with memtest composite of 5100. I will do so benchmarking and let you guys now how it turns out. I hope its worth the extra $$$ :D

thx guys :wave:
this board is a monster!
for 1:1 overclocking nothing even comes close as you can see from my memStat results that are way up there in Prescottland and im only running 238fsb 3.33ghz.
...and because of this boards ability to manipulate the NB Strap and GAT settings, im willing to bet that even high latency/high fsb OCing will kick butt too.
for 5:4 Ocing, this board is almost on par with the ABIT Ic7 boards.
overclocking wise, it OCs exactly the same as my Ic7.
3.2v vdimm, works perfectly and actually comes in @ 3.24v. it works and does not induce diminishing returns from using it, even if you only actually need 2.8v ;)
this board also happens to LOVE my antique pc2700 6ns chipped memory to no end!
476ddr fully tweaked :yikes:
uGuru is not compatible with Win9x OSes :(
that means no uGuru, and no sensors at all while in windows :(
the board itself works fine tho with those OSes.
if only they made this board with a Canterwood chipset :deviltail
now, who's gonna buy it from me?
:beer:

Wonder what the older Winbond Hardware Monitor would do? :scratch:

na Jim, nothing works.
cpuz, everest, 3dmark, pcmark, memstat, aida32, mbm, abiteq, whm, nothing gains sensor access in win9x.
there is no winbond chipset on the board (?)
lame of abit not to make a 9x version of the uGuru software :rolleyes:
i think im the only person that would care tho ;)

you can thank eva & PJ for starting that itch ;)
their threads/comments/results are what got me interested in this board.
the results on the Ai7 are absolutely amazing.
i hope ive influenced some ABIT owners todo more tweaking on their systems. its alot of work but the results very worth it.
