Hi I've just built a new PC with Asus a8v board and AMd 64 3500+ processor, Tt 480W butterfly series PSU, 1G of ram, 160 Gb Samsung SATA hard drive and 128mb radeon 9200 card(getting a new card soon). Everything is running like a dream but one thing concerns me, when I go to BIOS and to Hardware monitor I can see that the PSU fan speed is around 600 to 700 rpm. Is that OK or should it be more? I have the PSU's fan conector plugged into the board and don't have any manual fan controler attached to the PSU. The PSU doesn't seem to be running hot but I'm concerned as in the BIOS the rpm counter is higlighted red. Please help

I'm not 100% sure on this, but I am like 99% sure that everything's fine. The PSU fans are supposed to run low and quiet, only speeding up when it gets warm enough to need it. BTW, how is the PSU? I'm looking into getting thisone myself if the TWV480 doesn't ship soon.

That's what I thought as well but in the manual it's rated from 1300 to 4800 rpm and that's why I'm worried. I'll add the manual fan controler that comes with it to increase the rpm until I find out more. I wrote to Tt guys but got no reply yet. That aside the PSU is great, looks well(got the black one with orange fans), the window on the side with LEDs looks excellent even though the lights are not particularly bright but it's still better then no lights I suppose. It's very quiet and you get all the power connections you need including 2 SATA. Thanks for your help m8

I have this PSU and I like it very much. The rails are all above rated and are stable OC'ed with load!!! Also the sleeved molex's are very nice.
