hi guys just wanting to know if anyone has successfully unlocked the multipliers on the 2004 models of the 2600Xp barton cpu and how you went about it as i have nevr had to unlock multipliers before and would like to have some sort of manual control over the multipliers.

stepping = AQYHA
manufacture date = 0406

any help would be appreciated

If you google it you'll find a bunch of pin mod guides and such, but I would council you to fleabay, return, or for sale/for trade forum it and get a mobile. That way it's all ready to rock when you get it, and they tend to be far better overclockers than the desktop counterpart.

thats the problem with the new zealand market no body stocks AMD mobile XP's we have to order them from overseas e.g newegg etc. so the next best thing is to try and modify the cpu i have. going to hit google later on today

the first link was more understandable for me. according to that guide the wiremod on the socket that used to be used for the t-breds may apparently do the same for the bartons. i'll give it a shot when the wife isn't looking and see if it works (never done a mod to a cpu before so it is new terrain)
