View Full Version : vMod wanted
I am looking for a detailed vmod of a 8800Ultra graphics card. I have been to vr-zone and saw the 8800GTX guide but I am not convinced that they are the same as fir the Ultra.
Oh and a picture tells a 1000 words when it comes to the mod.
Thanks guys:thumbs:

From everything I've seen the Ultra and GTX mods are the same. Kingpin says they are also.
Thank you boshunter your input is good enough for me. Just who is this Kingpin guy anyway:na: . Sorry Vince just teasing.:rotflmao:

LMAO uh ohhhhhhhh lookin forward to some modded Ultra action!!! Any extra cooling or on H2O? :mischeif:
I have just finished setting up my HD2900XT onto a Maze4 block and hope to test that out quite soon. Currently my temps are much improved and I am able to get a 918MHz stable on the GPU on stock volts so that is looking promising. As to the Ultra I have no blocks to watercool the Ultra at present but as the Ultra will first need to be completely modded I have time to make arrangements. Currently I looking for a graphics pot that I can use for both the DH2900XT and the Ultra. All my new toys arrieved this weekend so I will be quite busy with them all. It is just a GO stepping Quad that I am looking for to complete my collection of benching toys. But since none are available in South Africa I will just have to wait till they are.

As far as I know the only pot that will be completely compatable with both will be the new Tek 9's. They will be designed with both cards in mind. I others can be used on both but need a sort of adaptation. :thumb:. When you bench on water have you tried ice water and a open loop or a closed loop?
Harleybro at present I have done nothing besides set up the single loop for my HD. I have designed the loop so that it is possible to immerse the triple rad into a sub-zero mix of acetone/water and Dry Ice. :hide: The hope is that the GPU core will be sufficiently cooled to allow me to get close to 1GHz GPU bench-able on the Ati card. Fans are simple to remove and will be removed before I dunk the rad - just to forestall any mirth and comments about that possibility.:bonk: But until I actually test it I have no idea just how viable that plan will be. The thing that is giving me a hard time is the temps of the voltage regulator as I increase the clock speed they are getting far hotter than I was expecting - 77'C at a 918MHz clock speed. I have plenty of time to tinker with the cards before I have my benching weekend planned so I suspect I will have a working solution by then.
