kingston pc3700 and pc4000 have 3-4-4-8 timings as well but at 2.65v .. very interesting :)

Well, same as Corsair... And we know that the Corsair didn't really do as well as the OCZ PC3700 Gold...

But 2.65V is interesting... Maybe at 2.75-2.95 like the OCZ is rated, it coulod do CAS2.5 at least?

Also, the MSRP isn't all that high, which is good. But then again, all the HyperX were fairly cheap.

The spec on OCZ Gold is 2/3/3/7 2.7 vdimm.I don't like those timings on the kingston 3/4/4/8 even if its 2.65 vdimm.Thats considerable compared to OCZ Gold.

Well, the good news is that the KHX PC4000's price is comparable to the OCZ Gold PC3700, so let's hope that means that at DDR466 it can do lower timings...

We need to see how far the Kingstom 3700 & 4000 overclocks. It will be tough to hit 500 DDR on 2.65V with the OCZ,but its 3700 ram,not 4000 like the Kingston is.I will try mine and see if it can do it at 2.65V 500DDR.You posted on the new OCZ 4200 so it will be interesting once more reviews come out on the two.

I am in windows surfing at 2.65V DDR 500 3/4/4/8.Not sure how stable it is.The timings are not a problem but the low Vdimm might.I would have to test with memtest86 to make sure which I will later.

233mhz 2-3-3-6 at 2.85v = 1175 passes, 4 errors on 1003,1046th pass 9:18:10

233mhz 2-3-3-7 at 2.85v = PASSED 12hrs stopped after..

250mhz 2.5-3-3-7 at 2.85v = curently testing
(memtest = 3086MB/s)

250mhz 2.5-4-3-8 at 2.85v = currently testing
(memtest = 2929MB/s)

255mhz 2.5-3-3-8 at 2.85v = frooze in test #6, first pass
(memtest = 3148MB/s)

255mhz 2.5-4-4-8 at 2.85v = frooze in test #6, first pass
(memtest = 2917MB/s)

so no way 250mhz at 2.65v

Hm... well at least it's doable. I'm sure the early Kingston will have problems running at that speed with that vDIMM... Most new "ground-breaking" RAM does. At least at first.

let the price drops for lower ram begin! :deviltail

Eva, try as LR did. Use the same settings as the KHX4000 and see if the Gold are as good.

Well, I set mine at those timings, and my Gold will NOT do 3-4-4-8 at 2.65... boots into windows and then reboots...

I have the IC7 (non G).I realize not all ram is equal.I just tried it to see if my ram would do it.

Also an advantage of the KHX4000 is that they come in both 256MB and 512MB modules. So if you need 1GB, there's no need to get 4x256MB.
