Just as the title says. I'm looking for what exactly PCMark05 looks for in your PC.
- OC'd CPU
- OC'd RAM
- Services turned off
- ???
- ???
What do you guys do? I'd like to break the 4300(no laughing now)barrier.
TIA
Sir G

What 15 views and not one reply. Then again I guess the CrystalMark sit. is not helping.

I am running this as we speak, escape button right before the CPU test starts has been saving my butt. The only other things I have been working with are PCI-E MHz, RAM timings, all the voltages, kill un-needed processes.
It seems to pay off if I find a spot with the BIOS, highest overclock, where it will just run without crashing with the card at stock then start to raise the GFX card mem and GPU speeds with Rivatuner. I have not tied it but Sbinh says that ATiTool works better as it allows .5 increments when adjusting these settings. Sorry if this is of no use to you but that is all I have.

For me so far, but I am not the highest scoring,
highest cpu mhz
low mem mhz w/tight 1T timings
2x 1gb sticks no page file
raid o
medium 3D overclock settings
PCMK05 does run at settings that fail orthos blend

Raid 0 and vista made a big improvement. Also faster hd's in general will improve scores. Other then that the highest you can clock your cpu along with thight timings in general.

Yeah I'm looking at getting another 250gig WD sata, and run them in raid0. I have to admit though I don't know that much about the setup of raid. Looks like I'll have to start doing some read ups on how-to.
Thanks for the tips guys :thumb:

Be careful with gpu overclocks in PCmark...... I found I got lower scores if my gpu was oc'd to the max like I would run it in 3D benches; my scores improved if I backed down on the gpu overclock, you may have to play with it to see what the limit is before it becomes a liability.
