Got bored the other day and decided to see what I can do about cooling my herc 9800 pro. Well, the best thing i had laying around was an old AthlonXP 2200+ stock cooler, and a 60mm delta. So I went at it, lapped the sink, and removed some fins, and drilled some new holes. As it is now, it uped my max core OC from 418 artifact free to 450. So not to bad a result for $0 spent and about an hour of work.

NeoShowtime, that's an awesome mod, mate.... Beats me tie-strapping a 92mm fan onto the card.... :p  Excellent results also. Can you post more photos with different views if you get a chance?

Very cool....;):D

Here are some more pics.. I had to take the fan off to get it out of the case though.. Wires were shoved in corners and it would have taken forever to get it out.

Looks like a very cool mod  . Now when I rummaging through a store with an old parts bin I will have to keep an eye open.

Shame 3 PCI slots are lost. I thought these fans for a PCI slot might help with the cooling:

Cost a bit more than your mod but I did not have a spare heat sink kicking around :rotflmao: .

I just sold the TV card in the bottom, so I could fit one of those in there now. Heheheh, but ya, i dont think ill spend any money on it.

I am curious as to where you found the ram sinks. In all my looking, I have yet to see those. Also, does the HS on the back help at all, or is used to keep from breaking the PCB and ripping the GPU right off the card?

All the ram sinks, and the back sink, are stock. Yay the bonus of buying a Herules card. Now if the sink on the back helps, I dont know. Heheheh, but it sure helped make mounting the big heatsink easier

Here is my effort...It's a Volcano 7+ with it's fan converted to a blower and a home made duct:
