I have started my comparison of these 2 chips. I decided to place it on oc-forums since it has a big traffic base to begin with in the Memory section. It is a "live" review so therefore I will post results as I have them.

Just a FYI, I returned my Corsair XMS 3700's and decided to stay with the OCZ 3700's. . .

Corsair XMS 3700 information:

 We'll have to wait for him to finish his tests, but from his scores already, the OCZ's are faster from the tests I ran. . .

Yes, he is running on the ABIT board, but if you see his almost DDR500 Unbuffered scores, they are not impressive. The OCZ 3700 get 3.5K at that speed. The XMS3700's are trailing behind at around 3.0K

Eva2000, yes sorry that was 4 sticks.

With 2 OCZ at DDR500 I got 3376/3462. Still higher then the XMS3700's scores. . .

timings were 2-3-3-7. . . 251FSB was the max for those timings, then I had to go to 2.5-3-3-7. . .

I'm currently having problems trying to get 5:4 to work with the Corsair.

When I had the XMS3700's, I could not get a clean 5:4 benchmark with them. . . . But think about it, these chips are not designed to run at a low DDR speed, they want to be in the DDR475+ range. . . . . .

Drop the FSB to 252 to run 5:4, that makes no sense. . . What timings are you trying to pull off? ?

Ok, 255fsb is my max cpu fsb, therefore I figured 5:4 would run there with the Corsair as OCZ has in the past, but no go. Finally got it to pass at 252fsb.

I have completed all matching tests between the Corsair and the OCZ. There is a chart now posted in the first post along with the supporting pictures further down the page.

Current completed tests are with GAT set to auto. Corsair will not run at any other setting. But the OCZ will run at a GAT setting of Turbo, so I will be posting those results also. But currently they are a work in progress.

Radelon, excellent job. I go rid of the XMS3700 so damn fast. :wack: Right now, OCZ is in the lead for DDR. Maybe next time, Corsair will get it right. . . . . :smash:

Thx all for the complements and replies. I almost have the OCZ with GAT = Turbo part done. I didn't use this for the direct comparison because the Corsair will not work with GAT set to anything but Auto. With the OCZ at Turbo GAT, scores are around 200 point increases, which in turn makes the choice even clearer.
