Hey all, Im building a new system for a customer of mine and decided on an AMD 64 3200+. My question is, should I get the 512KB version or the 1MB version? What are the strengths and weaknesses of each, which is better for gaming? And is it a wise choice for me to use this processor? Ive been looking at benchmarks and the 1MB version(cant find any 512KB benchies)is almost as fast as the FX-51 and a heck of alot faster than even the P4 3.2EE! THX!

Deep, informational response! haha...just kidding, but yeah, I've decided to go with the 1MB version as well, even though I have heard that the 512kb version is better...

Go with the ClawHammer [1mb] and just OC the difference.

I'd go with the Newcastle core which houses 512KB but has a higher clockspeed (2200Mhz). The 512 KB extra on the clawhammer is only importent for certain programs and processes.
I've had both, Clawhammer and Newcastle cores, and my experience is that the newcastle is much more fun to work with.

I'll second that. I made up the difference in cache with pure speed. In regards to PiFast... a Clawhammer at 2.6GHz will be outperformed by a Newcastle at 2.75GHz. And my Newcastle can run PiFast up to 2.84GHz. :D
