Anyone try this out yet? It's a new memory cooler with two 40mm fans that attaches directly to the DIMM clips, pushing a total of 6.72 CFM on the RAM. I actually just received the product yesterday, but haven't had time to check it out. I'll be gone for the weekend so I won't get to it until early next week. Ordered it from eWiz (http://www.ewiz.com/query.php?categry=0&s=super+talent+memory+cooler), where they have three different versions (beige, transparent, and one with LEDs). I got the transparent one. Here are all the reviews I was able to find about this product:

6cfm is a bit too little to do any good for increasing ram mhz but for cooling i suppose it's okay
I think that they look alot cooler then what they really do. . . . . ;)

6cfm running @4500rpm  . Does that sound right?
At 4500 I thought it would be noisy but they say its @26dB
The fans are screwed so if you don't like the lights you could try to swap in different fans (?)
If I can find one around here I will drop the $20 (CDN) to try them out. Worse comes to worse maybe I can hook them up in the car for more cooling  .
After playing around with it for a day, it seems to work pretty well. Although I do not have a thermal diode to measure the temperature of the memory with and without the cooler, it does seem to overclock better after attaching it. There is a good amount of airflow and it feels much more than 6.72 CFM, as I hooked it up to a spare molex connector before putting it in my case. It is also quiet enough that I cannot hear it above my CPU fan. Previously, I was only able to overclock to DDR451 2.5-2-2-5, 2.85v without seeing errors in one pass of test #8 in MemTest86+. Now I can go above DDR460 at the same settings. Great product!

Thanks for the news. I am going to try to find one up here but having troubles finding this cooler at a Canadian store (simplier than going through customs). Tried a US site but they wanted $50 for shipping :coocoo:  .

Wow, $50?!? And that's just for ground shipping? :yikes:

Don't think so. At least not by normal post. I was only given a choice of courier. The lowest was $50. In comparison a Canadian site is shipping a whack of parts by xpress post for $6.50CDN. Something is a bit wacky. I do not think they want Canadian orders or at least small orders (maybe if I order a new proc they will ship for chepaer  ).
Gotta find another site (maybe newegg). In the meantime I ordered 2-50mm fans and I will see if I can jury-rig them over the ram. Still not as cool as the Super Talent Memory Cooler. That looks sweet!

I guess I don't understand the value of this, unless it's just for bling.
You can real easy rig up a arm that attaches to the side of your drive cages and will position any fan(s) you wish over the ram to do the same thing.
And for a number of $$ lower cost.

That's true, but I like the way this product hooks over the DIMM clips to easily secure itself. Doesn't look ghetto, either, and the fans blow out a good amount of air while being quiet. It doesn't cost more than $15 shipped, so I figured it's a bargain.

Hello all,
I also managed to find one and it surely is a Super Talented Memory Module Cooler! :thumb:
It indeed can not be heared above the other sounds of my (pretty silent) system, but what of course is most importent: it improves the overclockability of my two 512 MB OCZ PC3500 EL Platinum Ltd Ed (BH-5) modules! :wpleased:
Before I was only able to get them to do 214 MHz at 2-2-2-5 in Turbo Mode on my P4C800-E Deluxe set to supply them with 2.85 V, without any errors in MemTest86+ after many... many... many hours. ;) Now they are perfect upto 221 MHz! :)
A little side note: some have said that the blue slots are worse than the black ones when it comes to temperature; in my case this was not true! To test this I set them to 217 MHz without the cooler and counted errors... ;) The blue slots gave me 8 errors (grouped in pairs of two) after 75 times the MemTest86+ #5 test, whereas the black ones returned 72 errors :yikes: (some in very large groups)!
But to get back to the subject: this cooler performs very well! Only problem was to get it installed in an already completed system, because you really need two hands to handle the force of those springs! I was very grateful they added an installation manual to show me how to install it on a motherboard laying on a table! ;)

My ST memory cooler bit the dust yesterday as I was trying to clip it back onto the DIMM slots after switching out the memory. One of the arms snapped off from the tension on those metal clips. :look: Still trying to decide if I should get another one.
You can get a better idea of what happened by looking at this pic:

Be careful when clipping the cooler on the DIMM slots, as the arms are very fragile and susceptible to wear and tear.

Why do fan manufacturers insist on putting LED's on their fans? It just looks gay.

Thats a matter of opinion. It really depends on the person. But, sometimes the lights can clash with whatever light scheme you already have. Have all red lights? Then out of no where you have fans that now have purple? Thats gay.

Luckily this cooler comes with fans that do not have any lights :thumb:

For some reasons I seem to come across many complaints about the spring latch mechanism breaking. Handle with care I guess.

Yes, I think Ice - who started this thread - broke his. The springs are really strong.
Luckily I was able to make my own ram cooling since this product is devoid in Canada :D

i made my own ram cooling by cutting a 120mm hole in the top of my case and pointing a fan down at the ram :D

It's kinda like the old time hot rodders motto: "if it don't go fast... chrome it" :D

I've had the Super Talent Memory Coolers on both my machines, and I agree the clip springs are too heavy for this type of application. However their use as memory coolers including cooling the heat sink on a OCZ DDR Booster works just fine.
I had to pull out the dremel on one of the coolers as I'm using an Arctic Silencer on my Sapphire X800CT PE video card. The upper aluminum sheet heatsink of the Arctic Silencer has raised vertical edges, and the rear edge projects vertically in the vicinity of the memory module area, specifically around the memory module clips.
I run the DDR Booster at 3.4v, where the manual says it needs direct cooling, and the Super Talent Memory Cooler does it adequately. It's also very quiet in comparison with 80-120 mm case fans. Hard to get in Canada though!
If you do decide to purchase one, don't get the one with the random pattern flashing multi-colored LED lights. It will drive you crazy if you have a case window.

Thanks infotree
BTW where in Canada did you pick one up? I have checked a few retaillers and they cannot get one up here.

Just as the one Ice had, my cooler now too had a broken arm! :irk: The clip, which has two arms, was not broken of completely yet, but had I not taken it out now, it might have catapulted itself through my case pretty soon... :hide: Two of the other three arms had also cracks halfway through! :(
It just is a very bad design, that is: the design itself is fine, but the material is not a good choice at all! High tension from the springs, heat from your system and... PLASTIC!!!??? :| :coocoo: That is just asking for trouble!
So be warned!!! Who knows what could happen if it does shoot right through your system!?...
I now have two 8cm 2050rpm Papst fans over my memory and it works just as well, if not better! :thumb:

Well... ;) because those two 8cm Papst fans disturbed my case airflow too much, I decided to try this Super Talent Memory Module Cooler again... :hide: But this time I chose the beige version, because I was hoping it would be better and... :chit: it is!!! :yup:
This normal beige plastic version may not be as cool as the transparent one, but it sure is a lot stronger and I am very confident it will not break after a while. And to be absolutely sure I unlocked one of the two springs on each arm to halve the tension, so that is no longer a problem.
On top of that I changed the original 4500rpm 4x4x1 fans for silent 6000rpm 4x4x2 Papst ones, so it cools a lot better and it even is quieter! :thumb: And that is really an understatement, because even at 6000rpm I can only hear the difference between silent and really silent :D when I start them and all the other fans are off!
To connect those two fans, that have rpm monitoring, I made a special splitter cable to connect them both to one connector on my fan controller. But then the fan controller can monitor the rpm of only one of those fans, so that is why my cable splits off the rpm wire of the second fan to the motherboard, so that it can be monitored through the BIOS or SpeedFan (http://www.almico.com/speedfan.php) for example! :wpleased:
Here is a picture of my new memory cooler, with the special splitter cable at the front and the original fans for comparison at the back:

I must be missing something here...sure looks massive and all, but 10.2 watts for 24 cfm output!!!
Kind of heavy on power consumption for end results in my view.:hide:

No, then I would rather choose my two Papst fans, giving me 11.77 CFM (almost twice as much as the original 6.72 CFM), but only 21 dB(A) (a lot less then the original 26 dB(A))!

Holly crap I had not noticed the dba output of the suckers...lol, can you tell RotorHead is used to Chopper rotor blade noise, he can fine tune them engines just by the noise generated by the blades, not enough noise more juice required..:D
