Yea, looks like it will peel part of the PCB board off! That, or just remove that nice heatspreader, gak gak. HUGE-O

Just for clarification purposes the Tower 112 is in fact made by ThermalTake but the SP-94 pictured is made by Thermalright & not TT.

thought this Pic was better with 2 92mm Panaflo's installed.. Was wondering if I could get it mounted into my little shuttle in the Background :bonk:

:yikes:

I hope it fits in your shuttle without needing to bore a hole through the case - althought this might look cool. Love to see a pic of it installed in the shuttle.

So how do you support the board from the weight of this beast? I suspect it is over 450g that I hear is generally the MoBo's recommended limit.

It won't fit without removing the Drive bays :o

Forgot the Drive bays on a shuttle XPC hang over the Cpu. And this is the guy that needs some extra cooling.

Polaroid makes DVD-RW drives? :p

Ahh, You noticed that :D

They don't make the drive. They just put their Name on it.

Also, I just weighed the Tower 112 and it weighs 1,505 Grams. That is about triple what is recommended for the AthlonXP :yikes:

That is one heavy heat sink. As Safeway says I hope you do not pull off anything once you get it installed - not sure where you are going to put your drives (external?).

How about getting an empty shuttle box? One for the motherboard, RAM, PCI/AGP cards, proc and that er, HSF. The other shuttle box would store the drives. :p

I'm interested in this 'LITTLE' guy:
Thermalright XP-120: Sporting 5 heatpipes and all aluminum construction! The best part about the XP-120, it does NOT require you to remove the stock retention system, it has clips!
http://www.systemcooling.com/images/reviews/Heatsinks/Thermalright_XP-120/heatsink2_lg.jpg
It holds a nice 120mm fan, weighs in at 220grams(sp-94=590grams) less than the SP-94 pictured to the left.

Quote from the SystemCooling preview of the XP-120:
"Let's just say this...after eight months as the undisputed heavyweight champion of P4 coolers, the Thermalright SP-94 suffered its first defeat a month ago today at the hands of the new monster of the midway, the Cooler Master Hyper 6. Stunned, but not out of the game, the SP-94 returned to defend its new title of second best P4 cooler against its newest stablemate in the Thermalright line, the XP-120. After the dust settled, we suspect that the poor SP-94 is probably feeling the onset of an inferiority complex, having lost its second bout in a month, even when saddled with a 92mm fan spinning at some 1000 rpm faster than the XP-120's voltage-reduced 120mm unit."

:welcome: to BE. I think I've read some posts @ABX.

I'm also interested in seeing some more on the XP-120. The article suggested more is to come. Can't wait.

FYI -there is (was) a thread on this new HSF.

I Had to mount this monster on My P4C800-E Dlx..

Cpu running 3778 Mhz and 1.8V Vcore.. system temp at 27C and Cpu at 37C after 15 Mins of TOAST

Running Caseless helps though :rotflmao:

Thing is actually Taller and almost as wide as the PSU...

Well I hope you can find a case to put it in. Alternatively you coudl always try to build one around the board and cooler :D .

Looks very cool

if you mounted everything into an ammo crate (if you can obtain one from an army surplus store) it would all fit in nicely i have seen a couple done here in new zealand and they definitely look the part
